Onsite Wastewater Inspections LLC. was founded on the South Shore of Massachusetts by someone who grew up in the communities we serve today. As a family-owned business, our work is rooted in the local towns, neighborhoods, and coastal environments that make the South Shore unique.

Before becoming a Massachusetts DEP Certified Title 5 Inspector, our we spent years working directly in the field this has provided hands-on experience with how these systems are designed, built, and expected to perform over time. That experience also revealed something important: homeowners and buyers often rely heavily on septic inspections, yet many inspections are performed by companies whose primary business is pumping, repairs, or installation.

Our Story

Experience with Onsite Wastewater Systems

Before becoming a certified inspector, our founder worked directly in the field installing onsite wastewater systems throughout Massachusetts. That hands-on experience provided a deep understanding of how septic systems are built, how they function over time, and what conditions can lead to long-term performance issues.

Installing and servicing systems requires an understanding of soil conditions, site limitations, system components, and regulatory requirements. This real-world experience allows us to evaluate systems from a practical standpoint during inspections.

We take the time to evaluate the system as a whole and provide clear documentation of its condition.

A properly maintained septic system can operate effectively for many years, but unnecessary maintenance recommendations can sometimes lead to avoidable expenses for homeowners.

During our inspections, we help homeowners understand the condition of their septic tank and system components. This includes providing guidance on when a septic tank actually needs to be pumped based on system conditions rather than relying on overly frequent pumping schedules.

Helping Homeowners Protect Their Septic Systems

Independent Title 5 Inspections

We became a Massachusetts DEP Certified Title 5 Inspector with the goal of offering fair and Independent septic inspections to the local market.

Unlike some companies that perform inspections as a pathway to selling repairs, installations, or pumping services, our inspections are focused solely on providing an accurate assessment of the system. This independence helps ensure that homeowners and buyers receive an honest evaluation of their septic system.

Our South Shore Roots

Onsite Wastewater Inspections is a family-owned company founded and based on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Our roots are here, and our work focuses on serving the communities where we grew up and continue to live and work today.

Living and working on the South Shore means understanding the local conditions that affect onsite wastewater systems. Coastal soils, high groundwater levels, older legacy systems, and evolving environmental regulations all play a role in how septic systems are designed, maintained, and inspected throughout the region.

Our goal has always been simple: provide homeowners, buyers, and real estate professionals with septic inspections that are thorough, honest, and grounded in real local experience.

Experience with I/A System Operation and Maintenance

Many septic systems in Massachusetts are Innovative/Alternative (I/A) systems, which require regular operation and maintenance under Title 5 regulations, town bylaws, or property deed restrictions.

Our experience working with these systems provides valuable insight during inspections. I/A systems involve mechanical components, treatment processes, and ongoing maintenance requirements that differ from conventional septic systems.

Community Matters to Us

As a local family-owned business, our goal is not only to provide Independent septic inspections, but to be a positive part of the communities we serve. The South Shore is where we live, where we raise our families, and where many of our customers are also our neighbors.

When we are not out in the field performing inspections, you will often find us spending time with our families at local parks and sports fields throughout the area. Supporting youth sports and local programs is one small way we try to give back to the community that supports our business.
